Taking place in the heart of Main Street, the world’s largest record label Island Def Jam partners with the signature House of Hype to create a unique music experience at the Sundance Film Festival. The event brought out some of the music industries’ most prominent executives like Def Jam founder Russell Simmons and President Steve Bartels, as well as Def Jam superstars Mariah Carey, Young Jeezy, Hoobastank, The Dream and Jon McLaughlin who all supported the role in which music plays in movies. Celebrities like Robin Thicke, Aubrey O’Day, Nick Cannon, and Ryan Cabrera came by too, to enjoy the variety of activations the Island Def Jam/House of Hype location had to offer. By day, the multi-level venue housed a chic hospitality lounge, and by night it transformed into the after hours Ultra Lounge, from 10 pm-3 am, with performances by Island Def Jam artists Hoobastank, Razorlight, Jon McLaughlin, Parachute, and DJ TimBuck2.
